Queridas hermandas,

Os deseamos un año que traiga todos los cambios para bien que queremos 
crear en el mundo.

¡Nuestro encuentro está programado para dentro de 8 semanas!  
Necesitamos recibir lo siguiente de vosotras de forma bastante urgente:

1) TODAS los grupos participantes y personas a título individual deben 
mandarnos el número de delegadas en su grupo que viajarán a Sudáfrica. 
Agradecemos a aquellas que ya han mandando esta información.

2) Por favor enviadnos el título y la descripción de los talleres / 
actividades que planeáis llevar a cabo durante el encuentro de MdN para 
que podamos elaborar el programa.

3) Si tenéis cualquier sugerencia específica o petición para que se 
incluya alguna actividad en el programa, por favor hacédnoslo saber.

Actualización general:

El Castillo está reservado y confirmado como sede.

Hemos recibido el primer tramo de nuestra financiación de la entidad 
donante esta semana. Ahora reservaremos el alojamiento para el 
encuentro, lo que no era posible sin dinero para el depósito de la reserva.

Os recordamos que (en el alojamiento) la entrada es el lunes 5 de marzo 
y la salida es el viernes 9 de marzo por la mañana.

Para aquellas que aún no han reservado los billetes de avión para 
Sudáfrica, os instamos a que reservéis vuestros billetes cuanto antes.

POR FAVOR no olvidéis consultar con el Consulado sudafricano o 
representante en vuestro país lo referente a necesidades de visado. 
Solicitad un visado de visitante si lo necesitáis.

SI necesitáis una carta de invitación y otros documentos por favor 
escribidnos un correo electrónico.

En nuestro próximo correo de comunicación sobre el encuentro de MdN de 
marzo, os informaremos sobre los detalles del alojamiento, un borrador 
del programa, detalles de nuestra marcha del Día de la Mujer al 
parlamento el 8 de marzo e información relevante sobre el viaje.

Dear sisters,

We wish you a year that brings all the change for good that we want to 
create in the world.

Our gathering is scheduled for 8 weeks time!  We need to receive the 
following from you rather urgently:

1) ALL participating groups and individuals must please send us the 
number of delegates in your group that will travel to South Africa. We 
thank those who have sent this to us already.

2) Please send us the title and descriptions of the workshops/activities 
you are planning to run during the WIB gathering so we can draft the 
programme.

3) If you have any specific suggestions and requests for activities to 
be included in the programme, please let us know.
General update:

The venue at the Castle is booked and confirmed.

We have received the first tranche of our funding from the funder this 
week. We will now book the accommodation for the gathering which was not 
possible without money for the booking deposit.

A reminder that check in time for accommodation is on Monday 5th March 
and check out time is on Friday morning 9th March.

For those who have not yet booked air tickets to South Africa, we urge 
you to book your tickets as soon as possible.

PLEASE don't forget to check with the South African Consulate or 
representative in your country about visa requirements. Apply for a 
visitor's visa if you need one.

If you require a letter of invitation and other documents please email us.

In our next email communication about the WIB gathering in March, we 
will update you on accommodation details, a draft of the programme, 
details about our Women's Day march to parliament on 8 March and 
relevant travel information.

        Dear Sisters,

        We have wonderful news to share with you. Through our inspiring
        comrade, Corinne Kumar, we were introduced to another funder
        last week.

        On Wednesday we held a skype meeting with them and sent our
        proposal and budget to them which they tabled at their board
        meeting on Thursday. The outcome of their meeting is that they
        will fund the balance of our budget to cover all our gathering
        related expenses such as accommodation, meals and related costs
        for the four days of our meeting.

        This is truly wonderful news. We are so excited and energised
        and ready now to work with you and our sisters in SA to make the
        March 2018 international WIB gathering a powerful and important
        assembly of women activists from across the globe.

        We have managed to secure a large venue at the Castle of Good
        Hope. The castle was a military fort established by the first
        colonizers. It was also a place where anti-colonial leaders were
        imprisoned. The current managers of the space support civil and
        activist initiatives that repurpose the original use of the
        castle. The venue is in the Cape Town city centre, near to
        parliament where we can hold our International Women's Day
        vigil, it is close to transport and to hotels and other
        amenities.  The plenary room can hold 300 people and additional
        smaller spaces have been allocated to WIBSA for the break away
        workshop sessions.

        We are now in a position to ask WIB chapters who have indicated
        that they will be sending representatives to the gathering how
        many members each group will send.

        We will also have to start thinking together about how we
        support women from chapters in the global South and in war-torn
        countries to send representatives to the gathering.

        We are delighted to share this wonderful news. We hope that it
        brings us all a small flame of hope to know that soon we will
        gather to break the isolation, borders and silence that women
        face in these times of war, militarism and rampant profiteering
        at the cost of human life.
