Hola
Petonets,
Iolanda

Dear all,
Following the discussion at the call today, I'm sending here some
feedback from the WSF outputs on the financial crisis.
A large group of organisations co-organised a series of seminars on the
financial crisis in Belem (see footnote in the attached call). After
three days of seminars and discussions, we managed to produce a 1 page
document including some key demands and a call for mobilization as from
28 March (not exclusively on the 28 since other organisations are
planning mobilizations on the 1st and 2nd April)
This document was then discussed and presented at a joint thematic
assembly with the trade unions, who generally supported the document
(some national trade unions from Belgium, France and also the ITUC are
among them)
We are now in the phase of final check of the document among the
co-organisers of these seminars in Belem and the final document will be
ready as from Monday 9th February.
The call will be disseminated and open to signatures from organisations
as from Monday. As you know time is short, so we are asking for
signatures in the shortest notice possible. I know this is hard but also
feasible, as we saw last year with the statement on the G20 process in
November :-)
This is why I'm already circulating the draft now. Please note that the
final public version will be circulated broadly on Monday the 9th. (but
it will not include any major change from this draft, it's just a final
check round)
As discussed in the call today, for the technical side, we will do it in
different ways:
-each organisation to disseminate the call, which contains an email
address; we will also post the call at choike's website, the same that
hosted the CSO call of November.
Thank you in advance and look forwards to your signatures!
All the best
Marta
