Us passo noticia sobre l'arròs modificat genèticament per la Bayer,
traducció a continuació:
Estimats amics,
L?aliment bàsic més important del món està en perill i necessitem de
la vostra ajuda urgentment.
L'arròs és el menjar diari de la meitat de la població mundial. S'ha
conreat en tot el món durant més de 10.000 anys i es cultiva en 113
països.
Per milions de persones l?arròs no és només un aliment, és una forma de vida.
Bayer, el gegant químic alemany, ha creat una varietat d'arròs amb
enginyeria genètica (GE) que posarà la nostra salut, la nostra
agricultura
i la nostra biodiversitat en perill.
La Unió Europea (UE) aviat decidirà si l'arròs de Bayer GE pot acabar
o no en els plats europeus. Però això no només afectarà els europeus.
Si la UE aprova la importació d'arròs de Bayer de GE, els agricultors
dels EUA i en altres llocs aviat començaran la plantació de cultius
manipulats.
Aturar l?arròs GE no és només l'elecció dels consumidors o el medi
ambient, és molt més que això. És una qüestió de seguretat alimentària
mundial,
de drets humans i de supervivència.
Pots dir-li a la UE que mantingui les mans de Bayer fora del teu arròs
- signar la petició.
Gràcies per la teva ajuda en protegir l?aliment més important del món.

The world's most important staple food is under threat and we need
your help urgently.
Sign the petition
Rice is daily food for half of the global population. It has been
grown around the world for over 10,000 years and is cultivated in 113
countries. For millions of people rice is not just a food - it's a way
of life.
Bayer, the German chemical giant, has created a genetically engineered
(GE) variety of rice that will put our health, our agriculture and our
biodiversity at risk.
The European Union (EU) will soon decide whether or not Bayer's GE
rice can end up on European dinner plates. But this will not only
affect Europeans. If the EU approves the import of Bayer's GE rice,
farmers in the US and elsewhere may soon start planting the
manipulated crop.
Stopping GE rice is not just about consumer choice or the environment
- it's a lot bigger than that. It's a matter of global food security,
human rights and survival.
You can tell the EU to keep Bayer's hands off your rice - sign the petition.
