Queridos amigos,  

con gran felicidad les comunico que en República Checa cayó el gobierno. El parlamento votó la destitución. Para nosotros es una gran victoria: sabíamos claramente que la única forma para detener la instalación de la base militar con el radar de EEUU era que el gobierno cayera. 

    Hemos trabajado mas de dos años en esta dirección con permanencia y coherencia. Sobretodo cayó un gobierno que representaba los intereses de las industrias militares americanas. 

    Nuestro trabajo ha sido fundamental para dar estímulos y confianza a los diputados que ya estaban en contra del radar e infundir dudas en aquellos que en cambio estaban a favor. Y justamente el cambio de opinión por parte de algunos diputados ha hecho posible la caída del gobierno. Por otra parte presionados por la huelga de hambre el partido socialdemócrata ha tenido que adoptar una posición clara a favor nuestro, cosa que les dificulta a futuro cambiar de opinión sobre la cuestión del radar. Decisiva ha sido también la colaboración con el partido comunista, que siempre ha apoyado nuestras iniciativas. 

    Gracias a todos ustedes por el apoyo recibido en tantas actividades, apoyo que ha sido determinante. 

    Gracias a las numerosas organizaciones pacifistas, gracias a los europarlamentarios que han creído en nuestra lucha, gracias a los alcaldes de diversos países, gracias al movimiento humanista que ha permitido que nuestra protesta se extendiera a muchos países europeos hasta alcanzar otros continentes. 

    Se debería dar gran espacio a esta noticia. Los EEUU tienen que reajustar sus planes gracias a la protesta de un pueblo que no quiere tropas militares de una potencia extranjera sobre su propio territorio. 

    ¡Y desde todos los territorios del mundo se deberían retirar los ejércitos invasores! 

    ¡Es necesario ahora que en otros países se desarrolle una fuerte oposición a las "guerras estelares" y a favor del desarme nuclear! 

    Ahora, en República checa, se abre un nuevo capítulo en nuestra lucha.

Dear friends,

I am very happy to announce that the Czech government has fallen. The Parliament voted the no-confidence. For us it is a great victory: we knew that the only way to stop the installation of the US radar base was the fall of the government and we worked for more than 2 years in this direction with permanence and coherence. A government that represented the interests of the US military industry has fallen.

Our work has been fundamental in encouraging the members of the Parliament who already were against the radar and to spread doubts in the ones who were in favor. And it was just the change of mind of some deputies that made the fall of the government possible.

 On the other hand, pressed by the hunger strike, the Social-Democratic Party had to take a clear position supporting us and this will make it more difficult for them in the future to change their opinion about the radar. The collaboration with the Communist Party, that has always supported our initiatives, has been decisive as well.

Thanks to all of you for the support you gave us in many activities, support that was critical.
Thanks to all the pacifist organizations, thanks to the members of the European Parliament who believed in our fight, thanks to the mayors of different countries, thanks to the Humanist Movement, that allowed this protest to expand to many European countries and to reach other continents.

A great space should be given to this news. Now the US must rearrange their plans because of the protest of a people who don't want foreign troops on this territory.
And the invading armies should withdraw from all the occupied territories of the world.

 Now it is necessary to develop a strong opposition to the "Star Wars" and in favor of the nuclear disarmament also in other countries.

 Now in the Czech Republic a new chapter of our struggle begins.

Cari amici,

con grande felicità vi comunico che in Repubblica ceca è caduto il governo. Il parlamento ha votato la sfiducia. Per noi è una grande vittoria: sapevamo chiaramente che l'unica forma per fermare l'installazione della base militare radar degli USA era che il governo cadesse. Abbiamo lavorato  per oltre 2 anni in questa direzione con permanenza e coerenza. Soprattutto è caduto un governo che rappresentava gli interessi delle industrie militari americane.
Il nostro lavoro è stato fondamentale per dare stimoli e fiducia ai deputati che già erano contro il radar ed insinuare dubbi in quelli che invece erano a favore. E proprio il cambiamento di opinione da parte di alcuni deputati ha reso possibile la caduta del governo. D'altra parte, pressionato dallo sciopero della fame, il partito socialdemocratico ha dovuto prendere una posizione chiara a nostro favore, cosa che rende piu' difficile in futuro per loro cambiare opinione sulla questione del radar. Decisiva è stata anche la collaborazione con il partito comunista, che ha sempre appoggiato le nostre iniziative.
Grazie a tutti voi per l'appoggio ricevuto in tante attività, appoggio che è stato determinante. Grazie alle numerose organizzazioni pacifiste, grazie agli europarlamentari che hanno creduto nella nostra lotta, grazie ai sindaci di diversi paesi, grazie al Movimento umanista che ha permesso che la nostra protesta si estendesse a molti paesi europei fino a raggiungere altri continenti.

Si dovrebbe dare grande spazio a questa notizia. Gli USA devono riaggiustare i loro piani grazie alla protesta di un popolo che non vuole truppe militari di una potenza straniera sul proprio territorio.
E da tutti i territori del mondo si dovrebbero ritirare gli eserciti invasori!
E' necessario ora che in altri paesi si sviluppi una forte opposizione alle "guerre stellari" e a favore del disarmo nucleare! 

Ora, in Repubblica ceca, si apre un nuovo capitolo nella nostra lotta.
