paix 2011** *
Monsieur, Madame, Chers amis,
Inspirés par des amis altermondialistes, nous avons pris l'initiative de 
promouvoir la candidature de François Houtart au Prix Nobel de la paix 
2011, parce que nous considérons que cette distinction signifierait une 
reconnaissance internationale de ses nombreux apports. Mais aussi parce 
que nous considérons que l'attribution d'une telle distinction, aurait 
une signification et un impact bien au-delà de sa personne... Cela 
signifierait aussi la mise en valeur d'un large courant altermondialiste 
avec lequel il est profondément solidaire et qui réunit, dans le monde 
entier, tous ceux qui aspirent et luttent pour plus de justice, souvent 
au prix de leur liberté et de leur vie.

*Mevrouw, Mijnheer, Beste vrienden,
Wij hebben ons laten inspireren door andersmondialistische vrienden en 
hebben het initiatief genomen om François Houtart voor te stellen als 
kandidaat voor de Nobelprijs voor de vrede 2011. Wij zijn van mening dat 
deze onderscheiding een internationale erkenning zou betekenen van zijn 
belangrijke werk. Wij denken ook dat de toekenning van deze prijs aan 
François Houtart een betekenis en een gevolg kan hebben die verder 
reiken dan zijn persoon. Voor een grote stroming van andersmondialisten 
waarmee François Houtart solidair is, zou dit eveneens van grote waarde 
zijn. Het gaat om mensen in de hele wereld die vechten voor meer 
rechtvaardigheid, vaak ten koste van hun vrijheid en zelfs van hun leven.

* Señora, señor, Estimados amigos,
Concretizando una idea sugerida por amigos alter  mundialistas, tomamos 
la iniciativa de promover la candidatura de François Houtart al Premio 
Nobel de la Paz en 2011, porque consideramos que esta distinción 
significaría el reconocimiento internacional de sus numerosas 
contribuciones. Pero además, porque consideramos que la atribución de 
esa distinción tendría una significación y un impacto que iría mucho más 
allá de su persona... significaría también un reconocimiento de la 
amplia corriente alter mundialista con la cual es profundamente 
solidario: aquella en la que se reúne hoy tanta gente por el mundo, los 
que aspiran y luchan por más justicia, a menudo pagando el precio de su

Nobel Peace Prize of 2011 because we feel that this distinction would
