L'assassinat de Juliano Meir Kamis à Jénine, suivi par celui de Vittorio
Arrigoni à Gaza, n'empêcheront pas la mobilisation de la société civile
internationale aux côtés du peuple palestinien.<br>
La terreur exercée à tous les niveaux par Israël et ses relais dans le monde,
allant du chantage à l'antisémitisme aux meurtres, en passant par la
répression des femmes et des hommes de conscience en Palestine, en Israël et
dans nos pays occidentaux, ne pourra réduire aux silence toutes celles et
tous ceux qui refusent la barbarie, et qui sont de plus en plus nombreux dans
le monde à prendre conscience du grave danger que constitue, pour la paix
dans le monde, la fuite en avant de la politique coloniale israélienne.<br>
<br>
Au Caire, plus d'un million d'Egyptiens sont descendus dans la rue il y a une
quinzaine de jours pour exiger un soutien actif à leurs frères palestiniens.<br>
<br>
En Israël même, des opposants se lèvent malgré les nouvelles lois scélérates
votées par la Knesset. Ils réclament la fin de l'occupation, appelent au
boycott de leur pays ("Boycott From Within") et se joignent aux
manifestations contre le vol des maisons et des terres palestiniennes.<br>
<br>
La Flottille pour Gaza a repoussé son départ à la fin juin pour tenir compte
des élections en Turquie le 12 juin, et non par crainte des menaces
israéliennes.<br>
<br>
La mission internationale du 8 juillet, qui répond à l'appel des associations
palestiniennes de Cisjordanie prend une ampleur considérable en France, en
Belgique, Grande-Bretagne, en Allemagne.... (voir le site : <a

). Des centaines d'hommes,<br>
de femmes et d'enfants sont déjà munis de leurs billets d'avion pour aller à
Jérusalem Est et en Cisjordanie du 8 au 16 juillet prochains.<br>

We declare openly that we are peaceful travellers who will be going in groups
large and small from cities around the world to Tel Aviv Airport on July 8th.
Since Israel currently controls all entry and exit points to Palestine, there
is no other way to travel there than through Israeli passport control.<br>
<br>
We expect consular protection from our respective governments, and moral and
political support from civil society institutions in our countries, in our
peaceful challenge to Israel's illegal actions in hindering access to the
illegally occupied and colonised West Bank.<br>
The roar of Israeli bulldozers signals more demolitions of Palestinian homes,
the destruction of farms and olive groves. The ethnic cleansing of Palestine
is in full swing. For this programme to proceed the Israelis must seal off
the Palestinian people from any international links.<br>
<br>
The Israeli authorities at Tel Aviv Airport routinely turn away peaceful
travellers who wish to reach Palestine in the only way possible; through
Israeli immigration.<br>
Gaza is being subjected to a brutal siege and so is the West Bank;
Palestinians in Gaza are shelled and bombed from the air while Palestinians
in the West Bank are evicted from their homes, murdered, beaten, humiliated,
robbed, kidnapped, imprisoned and tortured by the Israeli military regime
there.<br>
<br>
The flotilla will challenge Israel's illegal high-handedness by sea, while
the July 8th initiative will challenge it by land and air.<br>
Hundreds of us have already purchased our seats on flights into Tel Aviv on
July 8th ; <br>
Enough of Israel's cruel siege and silence in the face of cruelty.<br>
<br>
No more dissimulation in the face of an arrogant authority that imprisons a
whole people and denies us visiting rights. July 8th at Tel Aviv Airport is
our moment of dignity and will symbolise the right of all to dignity,
including free peaceful movement as enshrined in international law.<br>
