Hola a todas y todos,<br>
<br>
<br>
<br>
<br>

<h2 title="The Norwegian Debt Audit from an international
perspective">The Norwegian Debt Audit from an international
perspective</h2>
<p class="text" id="ips-editable-Articles-Article-1501-Summary">In
its political platform, the Norwegian government has committed to
do an audit of all outstanding debts to Norway. A Norwegian debt
audit will be the first creditor-initiated national audit of its
kind. SLUGs most recent publication is a collection of texts about
the Norwegian debt audit and how this can be made relevant
internationally. </p>
<div class="editorelement"
id="ips-editable-Articles-Article-1501-ac1501_content">
<p>“The Norwegian Debt Audit from an International Perspective” is
a collection of short texts with comments and input on the
up-coming Norwegian debt audit from various civil society
organizations and academics working with debt and development.
The contributors represent our international network of
organisations and individuals working on debt and development in
Europe, Africa, Asia and Latin America. This international
network believe there is a great responsibility connected with
breaking new ground in this way. The report has chosen to focus
particularly on Europe due to its closeness to Norway and the
current debt problems in the Euro zone.<br>
<br>
The Norwegian coalition for debt cancellation (SLUG) has in this
report asked international civil society organizations and
academics to comment on the Norwegian debt audit and give
suggestions on how this audit can become internationally
relevant. While all the texts differ in choice of words there
are three considerations that stand out as the most important to
the contributors: the scope of the audit, the criteria for debt
cancellation and various practical considerations. Taking these
and other considerations into account will be vital if the
Norwegian debt audit to is to be structured and executed in such
a way that it can easily serve not only as an inspiration, but
also as a model audit for other creditor countries.<br>
