Després de fer estralls a la seva pàtria d’origen, els Estats Units, el “virus neoliberal”,
usant l’encertada expressió de Samir Amin, ha encomanat Europa. Davant els símptomes inocultables de la crisi, els mercats reaccionen amb la seva explosiva barreja de rapacitat i irracionalitat, i evidencien el seu escepticisme davant les receptes de sortida de la crisi elaborades pel G-20, el FMI o el BM. A sobre, aquest cap de setmana, Jean-Claude Trichet, president del Banc Central Europeu, va declarar que “el rescat d’un bilió de dòlars aprovat per la UE i pel FMI és només per guanyar una mica de temps”. Aquesta opinió va ser secundada per l’economista en cap del BCE, Jürgen Stark, que a més va dir que “quan els mercats es tornen bojos, ningú pot preveure les conseqüències”...

Així mateix, aquesta reforma incrementarà encara més el deute extern dels països empobrits en augmentar el percentatge de crèdits inclosos en l'Ajuda Oficial al Desenvolupament (AOD). </font></td>

La Cimera va comptar amb la participació de més de 400 col·lectius i organitzacions d’Europa i d’Amèrica Llatina i el Carib, i va ser dedicada a la memòria de l’activista indígena <b> Betty Cariño</b>, assassinada a Oxaca (Mèjic), el 27 d’abril de 2010, per la seva tasca contra les transnacionals mineres. La Cimera va retre homenatge a totes les persones assassinades per la seva lluita social i política, i a totes les víctimes del model neoliberal injust i excloent a Amèrica Llatina, el Carib i Europa. <b>CONTINGUTS: </b> <br>
Afrontar i reconduir la situació ecològica de la Terra constitueix, en aquest nou mil•lenni, un dels reptes de primer ordre de la humanitat en general i del moviment ecologista en particular. Pesca, biodiversitat, energia, infraestructures i canvi climàtic són, actualment, cinc grans àmbits socioecològics als quals cal donar resposta i, com a tals, han esdevingut tema central de debat dels moviments socials i ecologistes actuals. Aquest curs té per objectiu plantejar quins són els aspectes clau que han de tenir en consideració els moviments socials ecologistes de Catalunya i de l’Estat espanyol durant el decenni 2010-2020 en relació amb els cinc àmbits esmentats, i ho farà amb la col•laboració d’acadèmics i activistes que, anant i tornant de l’anàlisi a escala local i global, duran a terme una revisió constant de les relacions existents entre tots cinc.<br> <br>
