L’estat espanyol és també una potència mundial al comerç internacional, és el novè exportador mundial i el tercer importador (FAO, 2010). Aquest rol destacat té lloc en un moment on cada vegada és més clar que cal fer una revisió en profunditat al model de consum, extracció i comercialització de la pesca per tal d’assegurar que no continua la preocupant degradació del medi marí, que s’asseguren unes condicions laborals dignes pels pescadors que porten a terme l’activitat econòmica, i que s’afavoreix que els beneficis de la pesca arribin al màxim nombre de persones possibles. Hi ha propostes viables per portar a terme aquesta transformació, i estem enfront una oportunitat política única, però també hi ha nombroses resistències per a portar a terme els canvis necessaris. Per això cal augmentar la pressió ciutadana per tal que els canvis es puguin portin a terme. En aquest article es tracten breument tots aquests elements.</font></td>

Potser mai no es podran quantificar ni les vides humanes ni els danys totals que ha causat. Aquesta hecatombe ha tingut una altra conseqüència sobre la qual el planeta sencer ha centrat l’atenció: els riscs i la incertesa de l’ús de l’energia nuclear. Sens dubte, la central nuclear de Fukushima complia els millors estàndards de seguretat exigits per una societat tan exemplar com la japonesa; fins que un terratrèmol de 8,9 graus a l’escala de Richter va afectar de manera irreparable els mecanismes de refrigeració del reactor. Els impactes actuals i futurs dels danys i la radiació que emana de la zona d’aquest terratrèmol, que tot i que inusual per la seva magnitud hem vist que pot donar-se al “cinturó del foc del Pacífic”, seran molt alts. </font></td>

El poble tunisià es va alliberar del seu dictador, ¿no és lícit que es vulgui alliberar també del deute que aquest va contraure? Un dictador que es va beneficiar de les facilitats de crèdit dels creditors que sabien perfectament amb qui tractaven. Una part d´aquest deute va servir per oprimir al poble tunisià, mentre que l´altra part va ser malversada per Ben Alí i els seus clans. Per tant, és un deute que no ha servit als interessos del poble de Tunísia. En altres paraules, un deute que és just qualificar de detestable i que ha de ser, per això, rebutjat.</font></td>
