<td class="txt"><font style="font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 11px; color: #666666; text-decoration:none; list-style-image: url(/imatges/vinyeta.gif); list-style-position: outside; ">Dissabte dia 8 de gener a les 16:00 les poblacions de San Pablo, San José Rodeo, Malacatán, Tacumulco i Catarina al departament de San Marcos, Guatemala, van patir un tall de subministrament d’energia elèctrica com a resposta a les seves accions de resistència per a combatre els abusos d’Unión Fenosa; una resistència traduïda en un impagament de les factures. La transnacional espanyola ni tan sols va respectar els usuaris i usuàries que havien fet els pagaments, va deixar sense llum a més de 20.000 famílies repetint el tall del 15 de desembre de 2009, que en només una setmana, va provocar pèrdues d’aliments, falta d’aigua corrent, i el malbaratament de 40.000 vacunes destinades als nens i nenes dels municipis. La proximitat de les festes de Nadal va comportar, en aquella ocasió, que els veïns i veïnes bloquegessin les carreteres entre Mèxic i Guatemala, i com a resultat d’aquestes accions es va criminalitzar el Frente de Defensa de los Recursos Naturales y Derechos de los Pueblos (FRENA), i es va declarar l’estat de prevenció al departament de San Marcos. L’estat de prevenció decretat pel govern guatemalenc, una mena d’estat de setge on es suspenen la majoria de drets constitucionals, va comportar l’assassinat de 7 activistes que treballaven en la denúncia de les males pràctiques de Fenosa...</font></td>

Entren el 6 i l’11 de febrer s’han desenvolupat a Dakar, en el campus de la Université Cheikh Anta Diop, centenars d’activitats auto-organitzades, assemblees temàtiques, reunions, manifestacions i activitats culturals. Deu anys després d’aquella primera trobada altermundialista a Porto Alegre, les xifres ens diuen que el fòrum ha estat, un cop més, un èxit. Però, quina utilitat té realment el FSM per als processos de mobilització i transformació social? </font></td>

En ambdós esdeveniments el protagonista exclòs és el poble. Ja sigui a El Caire o a Dakar, la mobilització popular feu visible allò que era invisible per a milions de persones: que Àfrica no és només pobresa o governs dictatorials. África també té consciència de com n’és de miserable la vida quotidiana i lluita per a eradicar-la.
La discussió econòmica de molts analistes durant els 18 dies de protesta a Egipte era l’impacte que tindria la pujada dels preus del petroli i de molts altres productes que es comercien a través del Canal de Suez. És cert que es tracta del pas de mercaderies asiàtiques cap a Europa i cap a l’Atlàntic Nord, el territori del capitalisme desenvolupat i l’epicentre de la crisi mundial. Vull emfatitzar que no veuen el més important per a poder analitzar les qüestions econòmiques: que la mobilització popular decideix, actuant col·lectivament, modificar de manera substancial l’ordre social vigent, el capitalisme...</font></td>

Un vincle que, com podreu veure, va bastant més enllà dels projectes de cooperació internacional finançats per l’Obra Social de les caixes i produeix efectes de caire totalment oposat.
La relació de les Caixes d’Estalvis catalanes i espanyoles amb actors d’anticooperació al Sud (empreses contaminants, vulneradores de drets humans, armamentístiques) i també al Nord (especulació immobiliària) és un clar indicador de la direcció que han pres en les darreres dècades aquestes entitats, que s’han anat allunyant progressivament del seu esperit fundacional (vocació social, inclusió financera, arrelament al territori) i s’acosten a la bancarització definitiva, avui en dia encara més propera gràcies a la Nova Llei de Caixes i el context de crisi financera mundial.
Com a persones estalviadores o inversores, ens ofereixen més garanties les caixes que els bancs, en el cas que la nostra ètica vulgui evitar perjudicis als pobles del Sud? Són les Finances Ètiques les hereves del model original de Caixes d’Estalvis? Aquestes són algunes de les preguntes que voldríem plantejar -i eventualment respondre- en aquest estudi que teniu entre mans.<br><br>

Nicolás Zambrano, jutge de la Corte de Nueva Loja, va reconèixer que la companyia nord-americana Chevron-Texaco és culpable de la contaminació que va deixar a l’Amazones equatorià durant els seus 26 anys d’operacions allí.<br>
A l’adjunt hi trobaran el comunicat emès per l’Assemblea d’Afectats per Texaco, així com la « Carta abierta de la Red Oilwatch desde Sudamérica » que hi està molt relacionada.</font></td>

<br>L'alimentació està avui en mans d'un petit nombre d'empreses multinacionals que decideixen què mengem, com es produeix i qui ho produeix. ¿Quines són les conseqüències en la salut del model alimentari que l'agroindústria afavoreix tant aquí com al Sud? Què ens aporten els aliments agroecològics respecte als productes de l'agricultura industrial? Si som el que mengem, com introduir aquesta visió en la salut pública? En la recerca d'alternatives en el consum més sanes, més respectuoses amb el medi ambient i més justes, la transformació i comercialització dels aliments agrícoles és un altre dels punts pendents. Quina és la situació a Catalunya i a Europa? Aquestes qüestions van dirigides a reflexionar sobre aquestes jornades.<br>
