L’amplitud del problema imposa, amb tota evidència, un debat públic de fons, que planteja la qüestió del trencament amb l’estratègia seguida des del començament de la crisi. Amb quin dret els problemes que es van succeint es posen en mans d’un petit grup que s’autoproclama d’experts, mentre que al mateix temps els mitjans desinformen i terroritzen les capes populars?<br><br>
Aquest plantejament ha sigut un fracàs absolut. El país es troba en un cul de sac i és necessària una àmplia participació popular perquè es prenguin decisions en referència al deute. Amb aquest objectiu, el primer pas pot ser la constitució d’una comissió internacional d’auditoria del deute públic. </font></td>

Per aquesta raó, organitzacions de la societat civil d’Amèrica Llatina i el Carib van portar aquests casos davant del Tribunal Permanent dels Pobles (TPP) el maig de 2010. Aquest article tracta de les violacions de drets promogudes per la política duanera europea, així com de la importància de la denúncia de la societat civil organitzada en fòrums com el TPP.

Es calcula que des de 1998 han mort gairebé cinc milions i mig de persones i des de fa uns mesos els atacs són més cruents. No és casual que el país tingui el 80% de les reserves mundials de coltan. El Congo fa olor a sang, a enfrontaments ètnics, a pobresa, a esclavitud i, sobretot, a diners. L’antiga colònia belga és tan rica, que amb la seva explotació hauria de nedar en l’abundància, malgrat tot només sobren les guerres. El territori conté grans quantitats de coure, cobalt, estany, urani, or i diamants, cassiterita, wolframita i sobretot coltan. D’aquest mineral tan rar se n’extreu el tàntal que posseeix una gran resistència a la calor i una excel·lent conductivitat per la qual cosa és imprescindible en la fabricació de noves tecnologies. Des del mòbil que utilitzem fins a les naus espacials, passant pels ordinadors portàtils i les videoconsoles. Tot això conté coltan. La reserva més important d’aquest material es troba a la República Democràtica del Congo (RDC).</font></td>

Cancún, després de Copenhaguen, fi d’un fals camí que ens han fet recórrer. <br><br>
Des dels anys noranta fins fa poc, hem sigut testimonis d’un “debat” mundial sense precedents sobre el canvi climàtic, problema que, en aquests últims anys, s’ha convertit en el principal de la humanitat de cara al futur. El capitalisme global mai no havia dedicat tanta atenció a un problema ambiental, en general els havia menystingut o, en tot cas, els havia “abordat” dins de la seva lògica, aquesta atenció es deu a la dimensió de determinats impactes i a la pressió social i institucional que suscita. Crida l’atenció el gran interès internacional (NNUU), estatal, científic, empresarial i social que ha despertat aquesta qüestió activada com cap altra pels mitjans de comunicació de masses o per gran part. Sense la col·laboració d’aquests mitjans de comunicació de masses ni sense el suport de sectors molt importants dels poders globals lligats a aquests mitjans, aquesta qüestió no hauria adquirit mai la dimensió que ha pres. Només cal veure l’atenció, que des dels mitjans i institucions, es dedica a la crisi energètica o a la crisi ecològica, en general les més oblidades. Ara, sembla que, a l’escena internacional, s’està desgastant una mica aquest gran tema, després del fracàs de les cimeres de Copenhaguen i Cancún (tot i que aquesta última s’hagi intentat vendre com un èxit); també sembla que poc a poc s’està assentant la boira que ocultava determinats interessos no confessats directament relacionats amb el canvi climàtic. Potser és oportú fer un balanç del perquè de tota aquesta situació, de l’abatiment que ha tingut i que encara pot tenir. <br><br>
Aquest text, que és una part d’un capítol del llibre de <b>Ramón Fernández Durán</b>: “La Quiebra del Capitalismo Global: 2000-2030. Enfrentando el inicio del colapso de la Civilización Industrial”, es centra en per què durant gairebé vint anys i especialment durant l’última dècada s’ha convertit en el principal mantra ambiental mundial, que repetien gran part de les institucions del Capitalisme Global, i en el qual també participava un enorme elenc d’ONGs, el gruix del moviment ecologista internacional i, en menor mesura, altres moviments socials. <br><br>

Una dècada després de la primera edició, moviments i organitzacions socials d’arreu del món ens tornarem a trobar a Dakar per treballar conjuntament en la construcció d’aquests altres móns que creiem possibles. Enguany s’han registrat més de 700 activitats auto-organitzades i més de 1200 entitats d’arreu del món hi seran presents. L’ODG hi participarà juntament amb una vintena d’organitzacions catalanes, coordinades a través del Fòrum Social Català.<br> <br>
Des de l’ODG participarem en diverses activitats, entre les que destaquem:<br><br>
- “Espoli de recursos naturals, poder corporatiu i arquitectura de la impunitat”, co-organitzat per l’ODG amb TNI, Alianza Social Hemisférica, Enlazando Alternativas, Our World is Not for Sale (OWINFS) ...<br><br>
- “Finançament Responsable, Sobirà i democràtic”, co-organitzat per l’ODG amb Jubileu Sud Àsia, Afrodad, Latindadd, Eurodad, Jubilee USA, Jubilee Debt Campaign UK i Justícia i Pau.<br><br>
- “Contra el deute al Nord i al Sud: l’auditoria del deute”, co-organitzat per l’ODG amb la xarxa CADTM internacional<br><br>
- “Cap al Tribunal Permanent dels Pobles sobre Deute Ecològic i Justícia Climàtica”, co-organitzat per l’ODG amb Jubileu Sud, World Council of Churches, Economic Justice Network, Oilwatch, Acción Ecológica ...<br><br>
A més, l’ODG participa en la preparació i celebració de l’Assemblea temàtica sobre deute extern, “La crisi del capitalisme i la lluita per la justícia del deute”, que tindrà lloc el 10 de febrer juntament amb d’altres assemblees temàtiques. <br><br>
Finalment, s’aprofitarà el FSM per avançar en diverses recerques. Així, es realitzaran entrevistes i enquestes relacionades amb el projecte “Cap a un consens dels agents de cooperació sobre les finances per al desenvolupament. Perspectives i alternatives d´un finançament més responsable, sobirà i democràtic”. Es farà també un treball de camp sobre impactes de la pesca espanyola i europea a Senegal, a nivell socioeconòmic i medioambiental en el marc del projecte “Mapeig de Conflictes Ambientals (MCA)”.<br><br>

L´assignatura té com objectiu introduir a l´estudiant als conflictes ambientals derivats de l´accés de diferents actors als recursos naturals (i serveis ambientals) i alhora, els derivats de les càrregues de la contaminació. És a dir, tots aquells conflictes ecològic-distributius (locals o internacionals) nascuts del creixent metabolisme social, des del punt de vista de la pugna d´actors amb diferents interessos i valors, que utilitzen llenguatges de valoració també distints. Està orientada principalment a estudiants de doctorat. L´assignatura forma part de l´especialitat del Màster de Sostenibilitat de la UPC que correspon a l´avaluació de polítiques ambientals. <br><br>

En el marc d’aquesta campanya s’ha elaborat el dossier "Notes per a entendre el que passa a Haití, un any després del terratrèmol i més enllà". El dossier consta de breus apartats d´informació sobre la situació d´Haití abans i després del terratrèmol, les causes històriques de l´empobriment del país caribeny, així com el procés de reconstrucció i ajuda internacional. Les informacions han estat utilitzades per diversos mitjans de comunicació a l’hora de cobrir el primer aniversari del terratrèmol que va afectar Haití ara fa un any. <br><br>
A més, s’ha participat en les activitats de la campanya (<a href="http://www.fcongd.org">http://www.fcongd.org</a>), s’ha intervingut en diversos programes de ràdio i televisió presentant les informacions del dossier i la campanya, i s’han publicat diversos articles sobre la situació a Haití abans i després del terratrèmol. Entre aquests articles destaca “Haití segueix tremolant” (publicat a Revista Pueblos, Rebelion, i CanalSolidario, entre d’altres mitjans) i “Haití continua tremolant enmig de l’estat d’excepció” (reportatge publicat al setmanari La Directa).<br><br>
