Cal reduir les emissions globals de GEH de tal manera que el nivell de concentració de CO2 a l’atmosfera no hauria de superar mai en excés les 450ppm. Això significa que les emissions globals han de tenir el seu pic, com a molt tard l’any 2020, i començar a decréixer a partir de llavors fins a estabilitzar-se l’any 2050 al 50% del nivell de les emissions de 1990. D’aquesta manera, s’espera limitar l’escalfament del planeta a 2ºC, presumptament assumible per la raça humana, segons el Quart Informe del Panell Intergovernamental del Canvi Climàtic. Les noves investigacions científiques apunten ja que les previsions obtingudes en aquest informe de referència podrien haver resultat massa conservadores...

Conforme el creixement de la població augmenti la demanda d’aliments, el canvi climàtic esgotarà les nostres capacitats per produir-los. Hi ha països que ja s’estan enfrontant a severs problemes de fam i podrien veure la seva producció d’aliments reduïda a la meitat abans de finalitzar aquest segle. Mentrestant, on es reuneixen les elits per parlar del canvi climàtic, poc es parlarà sobre les conseqüències sobre la producció i l’abastiment d’aliments, i menys sobre el que fer per donar respostes.</font></td>

El canvi climàtic és una innegable realitat cada vegada més patent, els seus efectes s’estan començant a fer sentit a tot el planeta. No sempre es té present, com sí indiquen les dades, que en el centre de l’escenari està el sistema agroalimentari. En aquesta publicació hem volgut presentar alguns fets, qüestionaments, preguntes i propostes sobre el canvi climàtic i el sistema alimentari global. En aquest context, s’ha conformat la Campanya unitària “El Clima no està en Venda”, comptant amb les adhesions de 40 col·lectius i organitzacions de Catalunya. La Campanya ha editat un suplement al diari La Directa, descarregable gratuïtament en pdf (en català només per ara), on es tracta d’una diversitat de temàtiques vinculades amb el canvi climàtic, tals com el model alimentari, el transport, el deute ecològic i les alternatives. Des de la Campanya “No et Mengis el Món” participem en aquesta iniciativa i els convidem a consultar el suplement adjunt (12 pàgs. versió pdf), aixi com a sumar-se a la gran diversitat d’activitats desplegades a Barcelona aquests dies.<br><br>

Es va conèixer la denúncia de set casos sobre l’impacte del canvi climàtic i la violació de drets a comunitats, poblacions i la Mare Terra. <b>Presentació</b><br> <br>
El sistema alimentari internacional és un dels principals responsables del canvi climàtic. S'estima que aquest arriba a generar fins al 50% dels gasos d'efecte hivernacle. L'agricultura industrial associada a l'ús massiu de fertilitzants, pesticides i petroli, és la principal causa de desforestació. Boscos i selves són destruïts en els tròpics per permetre cultius d'exportació destinats essencialment a l'alimentació animal i a l'obtenció d'agrocombustibles per als països rics. Al seu torn, les indústries processadores d'aliments, les cadenes de supermercats i aquelles vinculades amb l'empaquetament, la refrigeració, el transport i la comercialització, contribueixen també de manera massiva al canvi climàtic. Aquest procés expulsa a milions de pagesos de les seves terres, sotmet als consumidors a models de consum insostenibles i alimenta la fam de més de 1.000 milions de persones. En el debat sobre el canvi climàtic, es fa urgent qüestionar l'actual model alimentari i agrícola global. Més encara, les pràctiques agrícoles poden ubicar-se entre les solucions, mitjançant una bona gestió que cuidi el sòl permetent la captura de carboni amb la forma de matèria orgànica. Els governs prefereixen apostar per mercats de carboni en els quals especulin les transnacionals, en comptes d'enfrontar de manera efectiva a la crisi climàtica. Per què? Què podem fer? Necessitem granges industrials, amb concentracions massives d'animals que dia a dia contaminen l'aire i l'aigua amb ingents quantitats de nitrogen? Aquests temes seran tractats durant el <b><i>Seminari “Canvi Climàtic i model alimentari global”</i>.</b> <br><br>

El documental forma part de la campanya “Indígenes, quan la terra camina”.<br><br>
Sinopsi: El masato és la beguda que elaboren els indígenes amazònics amb iuca bullida. El beuen totes les ètnies i a totes hores,a les reunions, celebracions i per complimentar els visitants. El masato és la beguda que dóna identitat a la cultura indígena. El petroli no. El petroli, per molt que hauria de semblar signe de riquesa, l’és de desestructuració social i cultural, de contaminació, de malaltia i de mort. I si parlem de petroli, també parlem de biodièsel i dels milers i milers d’hectàrees que es pretenen incorporar al conreu de palma oliera per produir el mal nomenat combustible renovable. “Amazònia, masato o petroli” vol mostrar el menys teniment dels poders polítics i econòmics envers la selva i els seus pobladors, perquè practiquen una economia de subsistència i no són productius. Vol denunciar la política del govern contra els indígenes i camperols de la selva, considerats ciutadans de segona categoria, que són envaïts, enganyats i desplaçats de les seves comunitats per lliurar els recursos a les grans empreses nacionals i transnacionals amb la intenció principal de donar satisfacció al Tractat de Lliure Comerç amb els Estats Units d’Amèrica. Tanmateix, la selva ha dit prou i ha començat a mobilitzar-se i aixecar la veu contra els decrets llei que emparen aquesta política neoliberal del govern. L’Amazònia vol marcar el seu propi ritme de creixement, reclamar dignitat per les persones i respecte per la seva cultura.<br><br>
