<P><FONT face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"
size=2>Solemos creer que <STRONG>maternidad y trabajo son
incompatibles</STRONG>. Sin embargo no importa si trabajamos o
no. Importa saber si logramos fundirnos en las necesidades de
los niños pequeños en relación al contacto corporal, el
cobijo, la lactancia, los brazos disponibles, la mirada, la
quietud y la presencia durante las horas que <STRONG>sí
estamos en casa</STRONG>, incluyendo la noche. Siempre
es posible seguir trabajando, si es nuestro deseo o nuestra
necesidad, <STRONG>sin que el niño tenga que pagar los precios
del abandono emocional</STRONG>. Con frecuencia utilizamos el
trabajo como refugio y excusa perfecta para no someternos al
vínculo fusional con los hijos. En cambio otras veces nos
lanzamos a ese misterioso universo sin tiempo y sin bordes que
es el contacto corporal permanente con los niños pequeños,
sabiendo que esa hazaña es invisible a ojos de los demás, y
que en ese territorio no recibiremos reconocimiento ni apoyo.

<P><FONT face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"
size=2><STRONG>El problema no es el trabajo. El problema es la
vuelta a casa</STRONG>. Pensemos cuántos minutos por día le
dedicamos -de verdad- a la satisfacción pura de nuestros hijos
traducida en piel, olor, leche, fluidos, abrazos y palabras
llenas de sentido.</FONT></P>

<P><FONT face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"
size=2>Cuando regresamos a casa, el niño que <STRONG>ya nos ha
esperado con infinita paciencia</STRONG> siente que, ahora sí,
<STRONG>ha llegado la hora de estar con mamá</STRONG>. A
partir de ese momento merece ser resarcido, colmado de
caricias, tiempo, abrazos y sonrisas y también merece recibir
respuestas a sus reclamos legítimos ya que ha esperado
estoicamente el regreso de su madre. Si somos capaces de
delegar todo lo demás una vez que hemos regresado a casa, si
comprendemos que no hay nada urgente más que nutrir a nuestro
bebe de caricias y leche, entonces el trabajo no será un
obstáculo para el vínculo amoroso entre la madre y el
niño.</FONT></P>
