crecientes requerimientos energéticos del sistema de transporte se enfrentan al
inevitable agotamiento de los combustibles fósiles. Ante este callejón sin
salida, resulta imprescindible transformar tanto el modelo de transporte como
sus requerimientos energéticos. Una primera medida impulsada por la Unión
Europea ha sido la incorporación progresiva de biocombustibles,
mayoritariamente producidos a partir de cultivos y productos alimentarios, por
lo que resulta más apropiado llamarlos agrocombustibles, tales como aceites
vegetales o cereales. <br style>

En torno a un modelo de transporte insostenible confluyen de esta manera la
crisis energética, la crisis alimentaria y la crisis climática. En este
contexto el que se enmarcan estas jornadas, trataremos de encontrar respuesta a
preguntas tales como:</span></div>

los agrocombustibles una eficaz manera de reducir las emisiones de gases
de efecto invernadero?</span></li><li style="line-height:normal;background:none repeat scroll 0% 0% white"><span style="font-size:12pt">¿Qué
relación hay entre las políticas de fomento de los agrocombustibles y la
crisis alimentaria de los últimos años?</span></li><li style="line-height:normal;background:none repeat scroll 0% 0% white"><span style="font-size:12pt">¿Qué hay
detrás del actual proceso de revisión de las directivas comunitarias sobre
energías renovables y calidad de los carburantes? </span></li><li style="line-height:normal;background:none repeat scroll 0% 0% white"><span style="font-size:12pt">¿Qué
criterios son necesarios para limitar los principales impactos
socioambientales causados por la producción y consumo de agrocombustibles?</span></li><li style="line-height:normal;background:none repeat scroll 0% 0% white"><span style="font-size:12pt">¿Qué
biocombustibles pueden considerarse sostenibles?, es decir, ¿existen
formas sostenibles de utilización de materia orgánica diferente a
productos alimentarios como carburantes?</span></li></ul>
