Tras años de trabajo, varios meses de negociación política y quién sabe cuánto dinero gastado, el informe fue difundido de manera informal en el sitio electrónico del BM —únicamente en inglés. <br>
El informe es a la vez un fracaso y un motivo de desencanto. Todo mundo esperaba que el Banco proporcionara nuevos y sólidos datos obtenidos en el lugar de los hechos, acerca de estas “adquisiciones de tierra a gran escala”, para usar su terminología, que han provocado controversia desde 2008.</font></td>

<td class="txt"><font style="font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 11px; color: #666666; text-decoration:none; list-style-image: url(/imatges/vinyeta.gif); list-style-position: outside; "> Desde hace cerca de 10 años, el principal trabajo del Observatori del Deute en la Globalització, en el seno de la Cátedra UNESCO de Sostenibilidad de la Universidad Politécnica de Cataluña, ha consistido en la investigación activista sobre las relaciones de desigualdad Norte-Sur, así como sobre la generación de deudas contraídas durante el actual proceso de globalización. Hemos ampliado esta actividad hacia otras esferas, de lo que denominamos “la Anticooperación” , es decir, el conjunto de procesos y mecanismos transnacionales generados por los países económicamente más poderosos, que, en el marco de las relaciones internacionales, interfieren negativamente en los países más empobrecidos.<br><br>
Este informe, fruto del trabajo realizado conjuntamente con Veterinaris Sense Fronteres y SETEM, apunta el caso del “Complejo del Río Madera”, uno de los mayores conflictos sociales, económicos y ambientales implicados por el pujante desarrollo de las megainfraestructuras en América del Sur, en el marco de la Iniciativa para la Integración de las Infraestructuras Regionales Sudamericanas (IIRSA). Nace de la preocupación generada por los impactos que puede tener la construcción de megarepresas en la Amazonía brasileña y boliviana, con la participación del principal banco español: el Banco Santander. Esperamos que sea una contribución a los esfuerzos desplegados por la sociedad civil movilizada, en aras de que las autoridades y empresas españolas dejen de anticooperar y asuman por fin la responsabilidad exterior que tienen sus actividades, sobre todo cuando inciden negativamente en las poblaciones más empobrecidas y en los ecosistemas más vulnerables.

La denuncia se ha hecho pública a raíz de la aprobación en el Congreso de Diputados del nuevo Fondo para la Promoción del Desarrollo (FONPRODE), un nuevo instrumento crediticio que, junto con el Fondo para la Internacionalización de la Empresa Española (FIEM), aprobado el pasado junio, vienen a sustituir los tan criticados y deslegitimados créditos FAD.

Más de un millar de ciudadanos y ciudadanas se han sumado a las demandas de ¿Quién debe a Quién? en este tramo final de la tramitación de FONPRODE en el Parlamento y, coincidiendo con la IV Semana de Acción Global contra la Deuda y las IFIs, han enviado una carta al Presidente del Gobierno pidiendole que afronte de forma valiente y definitiva el problema de la deuda externa. <br><br>

¿Sabías que en Catalunya devoramos 27,7 kg de pescado por habitante y año (el doble de la media mundial) y que el Estado español dispone de una de las mayores flotas pesqueras a nivel global? ¿Te has preguntado de dónde procede todo el pescado que consumimos? ¿De las costas españolas o quizás de países empobrecidos en América Latina o en África? ¿Tiene la pesca industrial algún tipo de consecuencia social y/o ecológica fuera de nuestras fronteras? ¿Existen piratas españoles? ¿Cuales son los intereses del sector pesquero español y de la Unión Europea?
