Todavía menos puede hacer frente al pago de la deuda” afirma Abdul Khaliq, portavoz en Pakistán de la red internacional Comité por la Anulación de la Deuda del Tercero Mundo (CADTM). Tras las devastadoras inundaciones que el país sufre desde hace 8 semanas, Khaliq se ha unido a las múltiples voces que piden, no sólo más ayuda para Pakistán, sino la cancelación de su deuda externa. Antes de las inundaciones la deuda externa de Pakistán era de 54 mil millones de dólares y el Gobierno dedicaba a pagar la deuda el triple de recursos de lo que destinaba a salud. Una deuda que se ha ido acumulando de forma paralela a la sucesión de gobiernos no democráticos, mantenidos en el poder en parte gracias a los créditos de gobiernos e instituciones financieras internacionales. Según el CADTM, el 80% de la deuda de Pakistán es deuda odiosa, es decir, una deuda acumulada por regímenes no democráticos, que no ha beneficiado a la población, con el conocimiento y consentimiento de los acreedores...</font></td>

Las negociaciones, si siguen por el camino actual, no van a ser la solución a los problemas que sufren algunos países africanos, al contrario, pueden conllevar severos impactos negativos para amplias capas de la población africana. Los posibles beneficios para determinadas empresas exportadoras europeas y africanas no justifican el sacrificio que pueden suponer los nuevos acuerdos para la mayoría de la población, los perjuicios en el marco de la integración regional africana y la reducción del margen de maniobra macroeconómico y social de los países africanos. Pero no todas las cartas están repartidas, aún es posible cambiar las normas del juego y evitar los impactos negativos que se pueden derivar de estos acuerdos...</font></td>

La campaña ¿Quién debe a quién? se ha unido a la comunidad internacional expresando su profunda solidaridad con la población de Pakistán que continúa sufriendo desde finales de julio por las peores inundaciones de su historia, con al menos 1.752 muertos y una quinta parte del territorio anegado, que ha dejado a más de 10 millones de personas sin hogar y dañado 7 millones de hectáreas de cultivos agrícolas y otras estructuras económicas (elevando a 21 millones de personas el número de afectados directamente). Las inundaciones no solo causaron estragos a la vida y la economía, sino que también agravaron intensamente la ya desesperada situación de la población pakistaní. <b>Por todo ello la campaña ¿Quién debe a quién? se suma a la llamada de la Campaña Internacional contra la Deuda Ilegítima por la cancelación inmediata, total e incondicional de la deuda externa de Pakistán.</b><br><br>

Campesinado: hombres y mujeres. En teoría, todas las personas tenemos derechos, los mismos para todos y todas, independientemente de la raza, el sexo, la religión o la condición social. En la práctica todo es muy distinto. La mujer, por ser mujer, se encuentra ante una realidad discriminatoria inherente a la actual organización socioeconómica y cultural que prima al hombre frente a la mujer, a lo masculino frente a lo femenino, a lo productivo frente a lo reproductivo. El campesinado, por su ubicación en la escala social, por su condición de proveedor de alimentos, iguales que ellos y ellas, también se encuentran bajo este modelo capitalista, que prima lo industrial frente a lo rural, la ciudad frente al campo, la velocidad frente al sosiego. Hombres y mujeres por tanto que son discriminados, invisibilizados en el conjunto de la cadena agroalimentaria y en el conjunto de la sociedad. Pero si los hombres campesinos son discriminados e invisibilizados, las mujeres y campesinas lo son doblemente: por ser campesinas y por ser mujeres. Una realidad mucho más dura y difícil que la de sus compañeros de lucha por la soberanía alimentaria. Una situación que en este número de la revista ‘Soberanía Alimentaria, Biodiversidad y Culturas’ se quiere contribuir a descubrir, porque todo lo que no se publica parece que no existe, y esta doble desigualdad, estos mecanismos de invisibilización (algunos claros, otros más sutiles), esta atroz situación de injusticia diaria sufrida por cientos de miles de mujeres cada día necesita ser denunciada. Sólo tras la información viene la toma de conciencia, paso previo para la organización y la lucha por el reconocimiento del papel de las mujeres campesinas en la alimentación y en la supervivencia y sustentabilidad de un medio rural vivo. Una lucha que todos y todas, hombres y mujeres, campesinos y campesinas, tenemos que incorporar en nuestro imaginario colectivo para la construcción conjunta de un mundo justo. <br><br>
