Esto significa que las emisiones globales deben tener su máxima, a más tardar en el año 2020, y comenzar a decrecer desde entonces hasta estabilizarse en el año 2050, en un 50% de las emisiones del año 1990. De forma tal, que se espera limitar el calentamiento del planeta a 2ºC, presuntamente asumible por los seres humanos, según el Cuarto Informe del Panel Intergubernamental sobre Cambio Climático. Las últimas investigaciones científicas apuntan ya que las previsiones obtenidas en dicho informe de referencia podrían haber arrojado resultados demasiado conservadores...</font></td>

Conforme el crecimiento de la población aumente la demanda de alimentos, el cambio climático agotará nuestras capacidades para producirlos. Ciertos países que ya están luchando con severos problemas de hambre podrían ver su producción de alimentos reducida a la mitad antes de que finalice este siglo. Sin embargo, donde se reúnen las élites para hablar del cambio climático poco se dice acerca de tales efectos sobre la producción y el abastecimiento de alimentos, y mucho menos se hace para responder a ellos.</font></td>

En este marco, se ha conformado la Campaña unitaria “El Clima no está en Venta”, contando con las adhesiones de 40 colectivos y organizaciones de Cataluña. La Campaña ha editado un suplemento del periódico La Directa, descargable gratuitamente en pdf (en catalán únicamente, de momento), donde se trata una diversidad de temáticas vinculadas con el cambio climático, tales como el modelo alimentario, el transporte, la deuda ecológica y las alternativas. Desde la Campaña “No te Comas el Mundo” participamos en esta iniciativa y les invitamos a consultar el suplemento en adjunto (12 págs. versión pdf ), así como a sumarse a la gran variedad de actividades desplegadas en Barcelona esos días. <br><br>

<b>Presentación</b><br><br>
El sistema alimentario internacional es uno de los principales responsables del cambio climático. Se estima que éste llega a generar hasta el 50% de los gases de efecto invernadero. La agricultura industrial asociada al uso masivo de fertilizantes, pesticidas y petróleo, es la principal causa de deforestación. Bosques y selvas son destruidos en los trópicos para permitir cultivos de exportación destinados esencialmente a la alimentación animal y a la obtención de agrocombustibles para los países ricos. A su vez, las industrias procesadoras de alimentos, las cadenas de supermercados y aquellas vinculadas con el empaque, la refrigeración, el transporte y la comercialización, contribuyen también de manera masiva al cambio climático. Este proceso expulsa a millones de campesinos de sus tierras, somete a los consumidores a modelos de consumo insostenibles y alimenta el hambre de más de 1.000 millones de personas. En el debate sobre el cambio climático, se hace urgente cuestionar el actual modelo alimentario y agrícola global. Más aún, las prácticas agrícolas pueden ubicarse entre las soluciones, mediante una buena gestión que cuide el suelo permitiendo la captura de carbono bajo la forma de materia orgánica. Los gobiernos prefieren apostar por mercados de carbono en los cuales especularán las transnacionales, en lugar de enfrentar de manera efectiva a la crisis climática. ¿Por qué? ¿Qué podemos hacer? ¿Necesitamos granjas industriales, con concentraciones masivas de animales que día a día contaminan el aire y el agua con ingentes cantidades de nitrógeno? Estos temas serán tratados durante el <b><i>Seminario “Cambio Climático y modelo alimentario global”. </i></b><br><br>

El documental forma parte de la campaña “Indígenes, quan la terra camina”.<br><br>
Sinopsis: El masato es la bebida que elaboran los indígenas amazónicos con yuca hervida. Lo beben todas las etnias y a todas horas, a las reuniones, celebraciones y por agasajar los visitantes. El masato es la bebida que da identidad a la cultura indígena. El petróleo no. El petróleo, por mucho que debería parecer signo de riqueza, lo es de desestructuración social y cultural, de contaminación, de enfermedad y de muerte.
Y si hablamos de petróleo, también hablamos de biodiesel y de los millares y miles de hectáreas que se pretenden incorporar al cultivo de palma aceitera por producir el mal nombrado combustible renovable.
“Amazonia, masato o petróleo” quiere mostrar el menosprecio de los poderes políticos y económicos hacia la selva y sus pobladores, porque practican una economía de subsistencia y no son productivos. Quiere denunciar la política del gobierno contra los indígenas y campesinos de la selva, considerados ciudadanos de segunda categoría, que son invadidos, engañados y desplazados de sus comunidades por entregar los recursos a las grandes empresas nacionales y transnacionales con la intención principal de dar satisfacción al Tratado de Libre Comercio en los Estados Unidos de América.
Aun así, la selva ha dicho basta y ha empezado a movilizarse y levantar la voz contra los decretos ley que amparan esta política neoliberal del gobierno. La Amazonia quiere marcar su propio ritmo de crecimiento, reclamar dignidad por las personas y respeto por su cultura.<br><br>
