Una vez más, la respuesta oficial de las autoridades llega demasiado tarde y plagada de falsedades. Y otra vez más, la industria mundial de la carne es el centro de la situación y fabrica todo tipo de desmentidos a medida que se acumula evidencia sobre su papel en la crisis. Sólo cinco años después del inicio de la crisis de gripe aviar causada por el virus H5N1 y luego de otros tantos años de una estrategia mundial contra las pandemias de influenza coordinada por la organización Mundial de la salud (OMS) y la Organización Mundial de la Sanidad Animal (OIE), el mundo está atónito con el desastre provocado por la gripe porcina. La estrategia global ha fracasado y debemos reemplazarla con un sistema público de salud en el que la población pueda confiar.</font></td>

Entendemos que esta iniciativa es viable, y que debe ser enfocada como una política pública. La relevancia social y ambiental del área ha sido argumentada desde los más diversos frentes, y la legislación nacional, y en particular la Constitución de Montecristi, la del año 2008, convierten a la protección de esa área en un imperativo político nacional. Por lo tanto la discusión es cómo llevar ese mandato a la práctica.</font></td>

<td class="txt"><font style="font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 11px; color: #666666; text-decoration:none; list-style-image: url(/imatges/vinyeta.gif); list-style-position: outside; "> El Observatori del deute en la Globalització (ODG) ha recibido el encargo de la Red Europea de Deuda y Desarrollo, Eurodad (<a href="http://www.eurodad.org">www.eurodad.org</a>), de organizar su próxima <b>Conferencia Internacional 2009</b> en Cataluña, entre el 15 y el 18 de junio de 2009. Eurodad es una red que agrupa a 55 organizaciones no gubernamentales (ONG) de 18 países europeos, que trabajan sobre temas relacionados con la deuda externa, el financiamiento del desarrollo y la reducción de la pobreza.<br><br>
La Conferencia Internacional es un encuentro bianual de ONGs europeas y de diferentes lugares del mundo para tratar temas relacionados con políticas de desarrollo. Este evento tiene más de 15 años de historia y congrega durante tres días a más de 150 representantes de ONGs y redes sociales de más de 45 países del Norte y del Sur. Este año, el del Deute en la Globalització brinda su apoyo a Eurodad al acoger la Conferencia en Barcelona – El Prat de Llobregat entre el 15 y el 18 de junio de 2009.<br><br>
Bajo el título:<b> “Más allá de la crisis: repensando las finanzas hacia la justicia económica”</b>, el principal objetivo de la edición de este año radica en el debate sobre los impactos de la crisis financiera y económica en los países del Sur, así como la propuesta de respuestas políticas y demandas de reforma de la arquitectura financiera internacional. La conferencia nos permitirá en particular: <br>
* Conocer más los impactos ambientales y sociales de las crisis actuales; <br>
* Profundizar nuestro desafío ante el modelo económico prevaleciente; <br>
* Debatir medidas que permitan a los gobiernos recibir y retener fondos, incluyendo medidas sobre la cancelación de la Deuda y la evasión fiscal; <br>
* Determinar formas más responsables y eficaces de canalizar finanzas hacia países del Sur como finanzas de emergencia o apoyo a mediano plazo;<br>
* Debatir sobre cuáles instituciones deberían tomar decisiones sobre asuntos de política y regulación, y cuáles instituciones están cambiando su mandato o el balance del poder durante la crisis actual;<br>
* Considerar los resultados de las tareas de mobilización y promoción realizadas recientemente y considerar nuevas maneras de difundir nuestros mensajes al público y a los actores políticos y sociales.<br><br>

La Semana de Acción Global surgió durante el Foro Social Mundial de Nairobi de 2007 y tiene por objetivo la denuncia de la ilegitimidad de la Deuda Externa y de las Instituciones Financieras que a nivel internacional continúan sometiendo el destino soberano de los pueblos empobrecidos del planeta. <br><br>

El Observatori del deute en la Globalització (ODG) ha recibido el encargo de la Red Europea de Deuda y Desarrollo, Eurodad (<a href="http://www.eurodad.org">www.eurodad.org</a>), de organizar su próxima <b>Conferencia Internacional 2009</b> en Cataluña, entre el 15 y el 18 de junio de 2009. Eurodad es una red que agrupa a 55 organizaciones no gubernamentales (ONG) de 18 países europeos, que trabajan sobre temas relacionados con la deuda externa, el financiamiento del desarrollo y la reducción de la pobreza.<br><br>
La Conferencia Internacional es un encuentro bianual de ONGs europeas y de diferentes lugares del mundo para tratar temas relacionados con políticas de desarrollo. Este evento tiene más de 15 años de historia y congrega durante tres días a más de 130 representantes de ONGs y redes sociales de más de 45 países del Norte y del Sur. Este año, el del Deute en la Globalització brinda su apoyo a Eurodad al acoger la Conferencia en Barcelona – El Prat de Llobregat entre el 15 y el 18 de junio de 2009.<br><br>
