Más allá de las tan anunciadas medidas como el fin del secreto bancario, una mayor regulación del sector financiero o la promesa de más de un billón de dólares para las Instituciones Financieras Internacionales, se hace evidente que el objetivo no es un cambio de modelo económico, sino hacer pequeños retoques para que todo siga igual. </font></td>

Por una parte los biocombustibles son, en principio, una fuente energética que permitiría no aumentar en exceso la presencia de CO2 en la atmósfera, ya que el CO2 que desprenden en la fase de combustión es, en parte - en función del método productivo-, equivalente al que han absorbido en la fase de crecimiento de las plantas que se usan para producirlos. Además, el uso de biocombustibles en lugar de los combustibles fósiles disminuiría parcialmente el problema de escasez de materias primas, y favorecería la diversificación de las fuentes energéticas. Finalmente, se argumenta que un sector energético basado en la biomasa, si se da en las condiciones adecuadas, posiblemente crearía empleo y favorecería el desarrollo rural. Sin embargo, existen numerosas voces críticas ante el desarrollo a gran escala de los biocombustibles, especialmente en su uso para el transporte, por los impactos socio-ambientales negativos que están comenzándose a poder apreciar...</font></td>

Se trata de los Fondos de Ayuda al Desarrollo (FAD) y de la cobertura de riesgo empresarial, a través de la Compañía Española de Seguros de Créditos a la Exportación (CESCE). Desde la Campaña ¿Quién debe a quién? consideramos que lo que se está planteando es una contrarreforma que profundizará el endeudamiento de los países empobrecidos y la violación de los derechos humanos, para la satisfacción de intereses privados comerciales españoles. Por ello nos oponemos a que con recursos públicos -de los contribuyentes españoles- se aprueben reformas cosméticas que, bajo la retórica de apoyar el ¨desarrollo¨ en el Sur y los ¨intereses españoles¨ sigan beneficiando los intereses privados de empresas y perpetuando el endeudamiento, el saqueo de recursos y la pobreza de los países del Sur.
Debemos sumar esfuerzos en esta lucha contra estas dos reformas que están por venir.
Si desde vuestras organizaciones venís denunciando la falta de transparencia y participación democrática de nuestro gobierno; la orientación de la política exterior española en favor de intereses de multinacionales españolas en lugar de los derechos humanos y la paz; los impactos socio-ambientales de las multinacionales españolas; así como los procesos de desregulación de los mercados y deslocalización de las empresas para maximizar sus beneficios a costa de los derechos humanos, laborales y ambientales, desde ¿Quién debe a quién? os pedimos vuestra adhesión a las demandas incorporadas en este documento. <br><br>

Impactos sociales y ambientales en el Sur”. </b> La exposición pretende fomentar la reflexión respondiendo a preguntas tales como: ¿Qué son los agrocombustibles? ¿Son realmente una respuesta ante el calentamiento global? ¿De dónde proviene la materia prima? ¿Mejoran las condiciones de vida en los países del Sur? ¿Cuáles son los impactos sociales y ambientales en los países del Sur? ¿Cuáles son los intereses corporativos en este sector? ¿Qué perspectivas tenemos ante la Soberanía alimentaria y la Soberanía energética?* La exposición será inaugurada en Menorca en el marco de un <b>Vídeo-Foro</b>, organizado conjuntamente con el Fons Menorquí de Cooperació, Veterinaris Sense Fronteres y Entrepobles, en el cual se proyectarán tres documentales que tienen por objetivo sensibilizar a la población menorquina sobre los impactos sociales y ambientales del modelo de producción y consumo del Norte en los países del Sur. Asimismo, se busca promover una reflexión colectiva sobre las alternativas que surgen desde la sociedad civil. En ambas ciudades, se contará con una charla a cargo del ODG. <br><br>

Nos encontramos ante una crisis multisectorial (ecológica, alimentaria, energética,financiera, económica, y del sistema de valores). Esta crisis afecta a toda la humanidad, pero estamos convencidos de que los impactos serán más graves sobre las poblaciones más empobrecidas. Nos preocupa que desde los ámbitos del poder no se estén ofreciendo respuestas adecuadas para enfrentar esta situación. Estas crisis se entrelazan conformando una crisis sistémica y global que tiende a afectar a un número cada vez mayor de personas, tanto en el Sur como en el Norte. El contexto actual consiste entonces en una ocasión sin precedentes para enfrentar desde la reflexión y desde la práctica los mecanismos que nos han llevado a esta situación de colapso global. Asimismo, pensamos que se trata del momento de replantear las normas de la convivencia entre los Pueblos, regiones y países, y las relaciones que se tienen con el medio ambiente, para transformar estas realidades.<br><br>

Esta Jornada tiene por objetivo una reflexión colectiva en torno a temas que pernean y profundizan las relaciones de desigualdad entre ambos continentes. Entre otros, se debatirá sobre los Tratados de Libre Comercio y las migraciones, los movimientos indígenas y feministas, la deuda externa y la deuda ecológica, los impactos sociales y ambientales de las transnacionales europeas en América Latina y el Caribe, la crisis y las condiciones laborales, así como los Derechos Humanos y el militarismo. Una parte esencial de la Jornada se dedicará a la integración regional alternativa y a las resistencias. Este primer encuentro, en relación con la red Enlazando Alternativas se integra en la preparación de la respuesta desde la sociedad civil europea y latinoamericana ante la VI Cumbre Unión Europea - América Latina y Caribe de primavera de 2010 en Madrid.<br><br>

Este año, la conferencia se celebrará en Barcelona, Catalunya, y se
centrará en el origen, las consecuencias y las posibles soluciones para la crisis económica mundial. El evento congregará unos 130 analistas políticos y activistas del Norte y del Sur y pretende establecer un consenso de la
sociedad civil en la defensa y propuestas de acción. En estos tiempos de crisis financiera mundial, donde el debate político evoluciona con gran rapidez, una reunión como esta se hace más que nunca esencial.<br>
